What is your favorite memory with The Branch, or Debby?
It’s been an honor to work on many beautiful weddings with The Branch, but my favorite experience was working together to plan the flowers for my own wedding. Debby, my mom and I had a blast working through some of my crazy ideas and scaling down to the most vivid, colorful, and cheeky flowers a girl could ask for. Every meeting was so fun, and all led to a final product of which I am truly proud.

How did you get into stationery and paper goods?
I used to work in Advertising as an Art Director, which means I worked on ideas for TV commercials and designed print advertisements, from magazine ads to billboards and catalogs. At the end of 2006, my best friend from high school, Dana, was planning her wedding, and as my gift to her, I offered to design her wedding invitations. The next April, my nephew was born, and I designed a custom birth announcement for him. After that, I was hooked on designing paper goods celebrating life’s happiest occasions. I worked on growing my hobby into a full-time business by working nights, weekends, and lunch hours for two years, and left the Advertising world in 2011 to launch Stamped Paper Co. as my full-time job! It’s been the best five years [Read more…]

02.16.16

IMG_0011

In case you missed it, last Tuesday Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe made a stop at The Branch. When they reached out to us asking to park in front of our shop, of course we said yes! Ruthie’s is a Dallas-based food truck company who serves some amazing southern-comfort styled grilled cheeses! With so many different cheeses, meats, veggies, and sauces to choose from there is endless amounts of deliciousness available to you. Being one of the very first food trucks in the area, the growth has resulted from the growing trend and convenience of the food truck industry. We at The Branch love nothing more than bringing people together, especially when there is such delicious food around! It was an awesome turn out and we got to meet so many new faces. Who knows, maybe this will be a growing trend here at The Branch?

Got an event coming up? Ruthie’s trucks are available for private events!

Venue Spotlight: Arlington Hall at Lee Park in Dallas, TX

02.02.16

Here at The Branch, we love the variety of event venues we get to work with. From museums to our client’s homes, we definitely love to customize their vision to whatever space they choose. One of the common venues we work with is Arlington Hall at Lee Park.

A little history about Arlington Hall at Lee Park…
This historic venue sits on a 15-acre park that can accommodate an intimate small group or a large wedding guest list.  It first opened it’s door in 1939, and faced a massive renovation and expansion in 2003. This space is modeled after the Custis-Lee mansion in Arlington, VA and reflects a home-styled atmosphere. The elegant blend of the original details (like the gorgeous hardwood floors!) and the newer add-ons from the expansion make this venue one of the more unique venues in Dallas.

With both outdoor and indoor space options, there are endless amounts of choices when it comes to designing your events at Arlington Hall.
Here are some past designs we have done: [Read more…]

FullSizeRender-3

When we discovered floral designer, Twyla Rochelle, we knew instantly we needed her on The Branch design team.Twyla’s combination of being a hard worker and the passion she has for her work, makes her one talented lady. From her previous jobs of planning events in Vegas at venues like Caesars Palace and The Cosmopolitan, to traveling the coast of California as a wedding floral designer – she is nothing short of a go-getter!

This floral designer also has her own Austin, Texas based floral design studio – Remi + Gold.

Favorite Memory at The Branch?

My favorite memory at the Branch always consists of way too much coffee and designing late into the night with some of Dallas’ most talented floral designers. Debby is truly one of the most inspirational designers in the industry and takes so much pride in her craft as she should! I love the energy that she ignites into our late night design sessions and even though it’s much harder work than most people would ever expect the reward is so BIG! Getting to see the designs come to life is my favorite part of working at the Branch!

How did you get into floral design?

I always loved playing in my grandma’s garden and grew up in a small farming town so I always appreciated nature and beauty! I was 17 and in college when I first decided to intern for an event designer and just got hooked! I moved to Las Vegas and later Los Angeles to pursue my career as an event planner and designer and then moved to Texas to take on a role as the lead Floral Designer for an event-planning firm. I now call Austin home and am lucky to be in a career that gives me so much passion! [Read more…]

John-Cain-Sargent

Here at The Branch, we are always talking about all the amazing people we get the chance to work with. From planners to venues, there are some pretty awesome people in this industry. One of those extremely talented professionals is John with John Cain Photography. His passion for his work definitely shines through his photos. Another cool fact about John is his creation of The Dallas Wedding Collective. This little blue book showcases the best of the best vendors in the Dallas area.

“John is an uber talented go-getter who has a real passion for his craft. He has the ability to capture someone’s personality in a single photo. I knew from the moment I met him, he had the drive to strive in this industry. I trust his work so much, he even did my family portraits.” – debby j

What is your favorite memory with Debby, or The Branch?

Debby made me feel like a million bucks when we met for the first time. She and the Branching Out Team created this incredible Ralph Lauren inspired tablescape in the Crescent Club a few years ago that dropped my jaw. When talking with Debby while she was on a ladder we made the connection that her husband practiced law with my uncle of all things! This came about when she said they had just stayed in Red River, NM and it’s where my family has gone for years! Debby is an instant friend.

How did you get into photography?

Do you ever remember being incredibly excited to go back to the drug store, for me it was Cooter’s Village Camera, to get the pictures back from a disposable camera? Printed pictures have always meant a lot to me. I’m nostalgic. It grew from an early interest, to a trade, to a career. [Read more…]
