Planner Spotlight: Kimberly Rhodes

One of the amazing things about working at The Branch is getting to work with some pretty awesome people. One of those people being event planner, Kimberly Rhodes. Get to know this amazing lady and see some of the designs we’ve done with Hitched Events!

What is your favorite memory with Debby, or The Branch?
I have SO MANY great stories about The Branch, but I’ll never forget one of my very first weddings working with Debby. We had worked together on the design of this awesome ceremony structure topped with candles and thick piles of rose petals at the bottom. It was awesome! Just before the Branching Out team arrived with their mass amounts of candles to adorn the top of the structure, the venue’s fire safety officer (who knew this was even a job?!) told me that we couldn’t use the candles at the top of the structure after all. I made a panicked call to Debby, and she swapped out all the real candles with LEDs in a matter of minutes, saving the design (and the day)! Truly, what I love about the Branching Out team is that we always have each other’s back. At the end of the day, it’s a team effort and we’re all in it together! The Branching Out team shares my philosophy about that, which is just one of the reasons we love working with them! [Read more…]

Fall Inspiration

09.29.15

With the fall season arriving, we are more than ready to bring out the pumpkins and fall decor. So what better way to be fall-inspired than by an amazing table design that resembles your dream Thanksgiving table?  Debby went with a color palette of rich reds, oranges and greens with copper accents. We added gingersnaps, pears, pistachios and apple cider with cinnamon sticks to complete the look and feel of fall.  The captivating candle from Anthropologie was based on nutmeg, incense and patchouli combined with oakmoss, amber and cedar. Our table design gave a very modern,still-life vibe. Last Thursday at Arlington Hall at Lee Park’s open house, we got to showcase what The Branch is all about. Since we received so many comments and questions about this design, we are giving you the full details on how to recreate this design! [Read more…]

Staff Spotlight: Amanda

FergusonWedding0009
Starting off as The Branch’s first intern back in 2009,  Amanda Ferguson is now our amazing Finance Manager. She has been involved in every aspect of the business, from installation to design. From time to time, we love to bring her in for her stunning handwork. She is the momma to an adorable baby boy, Wyatt, and loves traveling the world with her husband. Amanda’s southwestern-style outdoor wedding was definitely one of Debby’s most memorable designs with it’s unique and gorgeous details. It is also one of the top five most viewed weddings on the D Weddings blog! You can check it out here.
Favorite Class from the University of Colorado?
Colorado History, Ecology and Environment. It was once a week, in my residence hall, and there were only about 12 people in the class. We took a field trip every week, including hiking trips, touring gold mines, and driving through ghost towns. Basically, I was getting a history credit to hang out in a beautiful place.
Favorite Part of The Branch?
The high energy and creativity!
Team Max or Team Hilde?
Team Max- because he might have been the cutest puppy ever
Favorite memory at The Branch?
One of the first wedding installs I did with Debby at The Warwick Melrose, 2009 maybe? Debby was dancing around singing to “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. Also, that’s when I learned to despise glue dots. I also vividly remember working out of Debby’s house while she played a Gwen Stefani album over and over again. Debby+music= happiness. Haha!
What do you do for fun?
I really like to be outside. Camping, hiking, skiing, backpacking, etc. I also enjoy baking. Sleep, when I can get it, is glorious. I just started watching/reading Game of Thrones and I am kind of hooked.
Puppy Max
Here is Debby’s Saint Bernard, Max, as a puppy. He’s seriously the cutest!
