i always love getting new containers, especially at bargain prices. a few weeks ago, i received a phone call from a friend telling me to drop everything and head to the most incredible yard sale ever, hosted by a couple that owns a very stylish wholesale home goods business (are you kidding, i’m not giving away my secret source or their address).

even though i missed the morning rush, i was able to find some really incredible spanish glass. (you may recognize the goods from some major retail stores). and yard sale finds go right along with my “bang for your buck” business plan. i can pass along the savings to my clients by offering low rental prices. i like the idea of sharing the love!

the modern bouquet

nothing is more exquisite than a white phaleonopsis orchid. the blooms are pure and simple. if you look closely at the details, they’re a natural miracle. a bouquet created with masses of these beauties is the perfect choice for a chic bride. they can be arranged in a modern casade (seen here) or more of a round shape. the blooms also make bold accents in a traditional mixed bouquet.

tip: even if you’re on a budget, try not to skimp on your bridal bouquet. every bride deserves to hold a piece of floral art that perfectly reflects her style. and don’t forget, it will be with you in every wedding picture (along with that guy. you shouldn’t skimp on him either!)

pack a modern punch

looking for a modern color palette for your next event? try bright orange and turquoise. keeping the colors bold and the varieties of floral to a minimum will provide more impact. in this setting, orange ranunculas, blue muscari and white phaleonopsis orchids are used in mass to create a sophisticated setting. the chic white vases from IKEA add an extra punch of style (and they’re easy on the pocketbook).

tip: if you’re on a budget, one type of floral in a stylish vase with a small opening will give you bigger bang for the buck!
